Community guidelines

The short version

Be honest. Be respectful. Don't sell anything illegal. Treat other users the way you'd want to be treated. That's basically it.

What we love to see

• Clear, honest listings. Real photos of the actual item, accurate condition, fair pricing.
• Good communication. Reply to interested buyers quickly. If something's sold, mark it as sold.
• Local pride. List your city and suburb accurately so nearby buyers can find you.
• Reporting bad actors. If you spot a scam, a dodgy listing or harassment — report it. You're helping everyone.

What's not allowed

Listings that fall into any of the following categories will be removed, and accounts that repeatedly break the rules will be banned:

• Illegal goods. Drugs, illegal weapons, counterfeit products, stolen goods, protected wildlife or animal products.
• Sexual services or explicit content. Personals is for dating and companionship — it is not a venue for escorting, prostitution or pornography.
• Anything involving minors. Content that depicts, targets or sexualises anyone under 18 is forbidden, full stop.
• Scams. Fake listings, advance-fee fraud, pyramid schemes, "send money first and I'll ship" tactics, phishing.
• Hate, harassment and threats. No racism, xenophobia, homophobia, threats of violence, or targeted harassment of individuals or groups.
• Other people's data. Don't post anyone else's personal information, contact details, or images without their permission.
• Spam and manipulation. Duplicate listings, bots, scraped content, fake accounts, fake reviews, SEO keyword stuffing.

Personals: extra care

The Personals section is restricted to adults (18+) seeking companionship, friendship or dating. Be honest about who you are and what you're looking for. Don't pressure other users. If something feels off, report it. Always read our Safety tips before meeting anyone in person.

Transactions are between you and the other party

AfrikaFinds is a place to meet; we don't process payments and we aren't a party to your deal. That means you're in charge of inspecting items, agreeing on price, and choosing a payment method that's safe for you. See our Safety tips for practical advice.

How we enforce these rules

We review reports from users and moderate content ourselves. Depending on what we find, we may hide a listing, warn a user, suspend an account, or ban it permanently. Serious violations (like child exploitation) are escalated to law enforcement.
